Christmas Commercial

Sometimes, even with the best of intentions, we can tend to over commercialize Christmas. It happens to all of us.

Maybe it’s those cute whatevers we thoughtfully buy for our kids or friends… Or that too-good-to-pass-up “doorbuster” deal that positions how much we save instead of how much we spend… Or the money we spend on crass lights and the electricity that powers them (some of which we maybe could give to a charity?)…

Not to be a Scrooge, but before another Christmas whips past us, I thought it might be nice to reflect on the wisdom that Charlie Brown’s friend Linus rekindles:

In this era when we can use our DVR’s to skip over commercials, maybe Linus’ kind reminder can encourage us to skip over commercialism, and remember the original reason for the season.

Any favorite traditions you can share to help keep it real this Christmas?
